Dynamics of PVA Gels
Static and Dynamic Fluctuations

we have investigated three types of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) gels: (1)
PVA gels formed in mixed solvent of DMSO and water, (2) PVA gels
formed in borax aqueous solutions, (3) chemically cross-linked PVA gels
by GA, to separate fluctuations into static and dynamic fluctuations.

Static fluctuations are dominant:
hard gel

Fluctuations are all dynamic:
Soft gel
|
|
Static fluctuations increase with density of cross-links
