Announcement

The LXVII Yamada Conference, “The 8th International Symposium on Metallic Multilayers (MML2013)”, takes place at the Kyoto Research Park, Kyoto, Japan, during May 19-24 2013, after previous symposia of this series held in 1993 in Kyoto, 1995 in Cambridge, 1998 in Vancouver, 2001 in Aachen, 2004 in Boulder , 2007 in Perth and 2010 in Berkeley. The central thrust of the MML symposia series is to bring together scientists working on magnetic and non-magnetic metallic multilayers and heterostructures in order to share their expertise and experience. The main emphasis of the symposium is on new developments in metallic, magnetic and superconducting heterostructures yielding novel physical phenomena as well as applications. The scope of this symposium includes the synthesis and patterning of magnetic nanostructures, the magnetization dynamics and the spin-dependent phenomena in these structures. Applications concern practical devices such as magnetoresistive sensors, nonvolatile magnetic memories, spin transistors, spin injection devices, etc.
